Raised in Perth, Western Australia, Cristian's early years were spent honing his craft by listening to classic R&B from the likes of Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye who first provided him with the inspiration to create his own music.
"I tried to write a lot when I was younger but I wasn't really that good", he says with a laugh. "I hadn't really been through anything you know so as I got older I had more stuff to write about.
